Starr has created a hat-centric soirée and
fundraiser featuring the latest trend in headwear at
Studio
Downtown, a “wearable art” and beauty boutique in
historic downtown Austin. This event occurs every
Fourth Friday of the month from 6-9 PM. All raffle
proceeds and a percentage of the evening’s sales benefit
Swan Songs.
Fascinators are the smaller cocktail hats
or feathered headpieces that have been popular in the UK
and Australia for about a decade. They are growing in
popularity here, thanks in part to the great press
coverage of Catherine Middleton, now Duchess of
Cambridge, who is an ardent supporter of modern
millinery. “A fascinator is pure ornament -- fun,
frivolous and fabulous!”
In addition to hats, jewelry and
clothing, you will find delicious treats by
Salubrious
Sauces & Catering Co. and
The Pie Society,
libations, and make-up touch ups by
Kandy Glass to kick
off your weekend in style, while supporting Swan Songs.
