For Musicians

Our musicians are the heart of the mission.

Every Swan Songs concert begins with one person's request — their music, their moment. Opera or mariachi, bluegrass or R&B, you're the one who brings it to life. Swan Songs was founded by a working musician, and paying musicians for their artistry has been part of the mission from the very first concert.

How it works

Requests come to Swan Songs from families and end-of-life professionals. Our staff matches each request to a musician whose style fits — most recipients ask for a genre or style of music, and they trust us to find the right artist. Concerts are 30–40 minutes, unplugged, and held in private homes or care facilities, often with family and caregivers present. You are compensated for every performance.

What it’s like

These concerts are as personal as the person who requested them. Sometimes the room fills with joy and singing along; sometimes it's quiet and tender. Musicians tell us these are among the most meaningful shows they play.

I gotta tell ya. I love those gigs so much. They are literally the most important shows of the year for me.”
